The Story

Crunch was founded in June of 2022 by Joshua Walfall, with the vision of revolutionizing eSports and content creation as a whole. This initially took shape as a traditional eSports team, drafting teams and working with coaches to rapidly expand to a 3 team roster.

Looking ahead to a wasteland of other “aspiring eSports teams”, Josh quickly realized that this wasn’t the path he wanted to move forward on. Crunch took its first major pivot in September, switching to focus on community and tournaments and effectively going back to square one. Through careful hard work and a lot of connections Crunch quickly grew its community to 200 members in December, hosted its first amateur tournament with 8 teams and gained a number of promising partners and sponsors.

December not only marked the creation of the Crunch International Competitive Partnership but the start of Crunch’s second major pivot. After gaining its first sponsor,  significant research, and on boarding an expert marketer, Crunch decided to focus more on providing the most enjoyable tournament experience possible.

With this pivot in direction, 2023 marked the beginning of Crunch’s upward climb. The team began putting on weekly tournaments, started serious development of the Penthouse series, and really started to see numerical success across the board. After a month, Crunch saw 300% growth in its discord server, the successful roll out of 4 different tournaments, and rapid increases in followers across all of its platforms.

What's Next?

With a $5000 tournament on the horizon, multiple sponsors in the works, and a newly revamped team, there is an insurmountable amount of potential in Crunch Gaming’s future. To maximize it’s content creators and partnership with teams, there is a third direction change on the way for Crunch Gaming.
